Trisaules was a resident of Pheneos, a town in the northeast of ancient Arcadia, who became the first local man to welcome the goddess Demeter when she visited the area during her search for Persephone. He offered generous hospitality, and in return, the goddess gave the Pheneatae a gift of pulses, except for beans. Trisaules and Damithales, another pious Pheneat, built a temple dedicated to Demeter Thesmia in Mount Cyllene and established rites similar to Eleusis'.
