Deiope was the daughter of Triptolemus and mother of Eumolpus by Musaeus. However, a different account describes her as the mother of Triptolemus. Aristotle says that when the Athenians were building the sanctuary of Demeter in Eleusis, they found a tablet or a bronze column with the inscription “This is the monument of Deiope”. Unfortunately, there is very little information regarding Deiope or this remarkable artefact.
